In Meg Cabot's latest novel, we meet Lizzie Nichols, a recent almost college graduate who is traveling to England to stay with her boyfriend, Andrew. Lizzie, who is a bit of an airhead, is head over heels in love and is looking forward to spending a quality month with her beloved before returning to her hometown while he finishes his last semester of school and she looks for a job with her history of fashion degree. Imagine her surprise when she's met at the airport by Andrew and his father and discovers that her month of love will take place in the family home because Andrew doesn't have a real job and has moved back in with his parents. Add his desperate need for money to the mix and Lizzie finds herself heading to France to visit her best friend and her boyfriend who are staying at a chateau. And of course there is a hot young guy there and Lizzie, with her incessant talking, spills her guts to the guy, leading her off on a crush and many adventures among the rich and showy.

This is a very light book, perfect for summer reading. Cabot has a very engaging style, and her characters are often funny and imperfect. Lizzie's not a deep thinker by any means, and her ability to fall in and out of love will make a normal person's head spin. Still, this book keeps you turning the pages and enjoying the trip. Definitely recommended for beach reading!

Queen of Babble A Novel Meg Cabot 9780060851989 Books Reviews

Sweet and charming book, but a little outdated at this point. Definitely a quick read that will leave you with feelings of “happy ever after.”
***Spoiler Alert***
I am not a fan of chick lit and this book reminded me why. The story line was so unbelieveable and the plot sucked. I also felt that it was poorly written. The main charecter (Lizzie) is a dumb naive girl who runs off to London to be with a man whom she has only spent one day together with and then gets mad at herself for giving the guy oral sex. She then runs away from London and meets another guy who is already has a girlfriend. Lizzie gets him to dump his girlfriend and then they have sex. And all off this takes place in just a couple of days! Hated it.
It was a sweet and simple book. At first the protagonist rambled too much but that changed after the introduction of other characters. Very cute book to read.
Who doesn't love Meg Cabot! She's done it again with the babble series. Good condition for a used book. Highly recommend!!!
I found this book on a list of good beach reads. I wasn't expecting a literary masterpiece just a casual easy read for my recent beach vacation. This book was absolutely terrible. It was predictable, the main character was awful to listen to; essentially it was like reading a book written by a 13 year old girl. If you're looking for a beach read continue looking. This was a complete waste of time and money.
This book took off a little slow, but grabbed my attention. I was a big fan of meg cabot as a teen and it went right into my adulthood. Her books never fail me and always provide a good laugh. I love that this book moves around a lot but is able to accommodate all the characters. I couldn't wait to read the rest of the books in this series.
I wanted to love this book. But it felt like the only reason the main character had a happy life was because she lost 30 pounds. She blamed every thing on her weight. not sure who the audience was for but wish I had my money back on this one because it wasn't me.
